The telling tale of Prowess, Kerra Berserker, as clawed down by myself.

This story has been told to me by my grandmother, by the time I came to maturity (which she always told me was quite early compared to other Kerra). It has been passed down for centuries as it describes the times before the great shattering and before the great wars, somewehre along 5 centuries past. This is how the Blood of the Savageclaw came to my bloodline:

"A little over 500 years ago, our ancestors lived on Kerra Isle. Peace was found on this island, away from the hairless creatures called Erudites. One late evening a large feline arrived in our village, badly injured and in need of care. For weeks the female took care of this person. In this time, through careful communication, it was learned that the person was a Vah Shir. We had heard stories of these big Kerralike people.

She told us that she was a child of the Vah Shir, mistress of the Sisterhood of the Savageclaw. Her life story was a striking one, but the reason why she had come to our village was even more unbelievable. She told us of worlds and places that existed outside our realm: the moon where she was born, the Elves, the territories filled with Trolls, Ogres, and planes with Demons, ancient Giants and Gods. In one of her last fights, she was hurt badly... mentally and physically. This is the state in which she arrived here.

In the time she needed for recovery, she grew fond of the Kerra, and the relative peace on the isle. Seeking spiritual ascendance and peace through carefull communications with her ancestral spirits, she called forth spirits to aid her in her tasks, large tigerlike creatures. She found a mate in our male populous and had a small litter of 4 cute but fierce kittens. These kittens grew stronger and taller then the local Kerra, showing their blood and crossbreeding. For 12 years all went well, but then disaster struck.

Her husband used to fish close to, or on the shores of Toxxulia Forest. One night he didn't come home, and she went to seek him on the land. She didn't find him, but did pick up a trail of his scent... and the scent of death and decay. Tracking the trail with skills learned from Woodelf rangers, she arrived at the entrance of the Erudite city of Paineel. During earlier raids she had found a key to the city, and as she entered the terrible truth was learned. She found out that her mate was used in necromantic rituals and this brought the rage of the Savageclaw on to her. She slaughtered all she could... many Erudites left this plane of existence that night. But at the end the rage left her body in a weakened state, and she needed to flee. In madness she fled into the Warrens and was never to be seen again.

(Some lore talks about a raging Vah Shir Beastmistress that came to the plane known as the Plain of Fire, where she went down in a magnificent fight. Others tell of a female Vah Shir, arriving on Luclin and welcomed as new ruler - were the matriarchy of The Savageclaw retook their place in Vah Shir history, and the King Rahja and his line was overthrown.)

The litter grew up to be a strong and forceful tribe within the Kerra, more fierce, powerfull and larger due to their heritage."

Then my grandmother told me the following:

"My dear, you will be named after this ancestor and source of our tribe, as a memory to the Vah Shir who lived among the Kerra as one of them. Prowess, will be your name. You have picked up a sensation for pain and a prowess in battle from our ancestor.

Your Soul, though in the now, has been shaped by the actions of the past. The future will be shaped by force, fury and power. Take pride in you name, Prowess, and proof that the blood of the Vah Shir flows through your veins. Make right what the Gods made wrong... reunite the Kerra and claim their place on Norrath and beyond!"

So that is how I came known as Prowess Masochistikitti, seeker of truth and justice. I have pledged myself to justice, judgement and execution, and The Tribunal is the way I chose for my path. Kerra will prevail, especially after the Gods left us and we need to grab and claim our own destiny!
