Azoraine's Story
From WikiWatch
As told by Uxian
I have been asked by my brother, Azoraine, to describe to you the story of his life. He is most ashamed to say that he has never learned the skills to read or write and so wishes me to relate this tale to you.
This story begins with our father. A rogue he was, by both profession and action. Some 30 years ago he took it upon himself to wander the isles of Norrath and within a small village of poor farmers he sewed his wild oats with one of the human kind, shaming our family by letting fail his High Elf nobility.
And so was my half-brother born. His family of humans thought little of him as a half-breed and so put him to work as a slave upon the fields where he toiled away his youth in a shameful servitude to an inferior race.
But among these brutes he found kindness in the form of their tribal elder. For a human, she was a most noble and intelligent creature. She told him all she knew of our father and he vowed to follow in his elved footsteps, having come to despise his human mother. He sneaked away from the village and stowed away upon a ship where he almost died, unable to scrounge more than the barest morcels of food.
And so he found himself upon the Isle of Refuge, tattered and barely alive. The friendly elven kind there fed him, clothed him and armed him. Driven by fear and hatred of human kind he fought his way to freedom in Qeynos and to my door, guided by the name Shadowheart that was told to him so long ago by the human elder.
Thus I invited him to join us. I pitied the hatred I saw in his eyes towards the humans and vowed to show him the great nobility that is possible from the nobler members of mankind. I fear it may take him many years to overcome this but he could find no better place to begin healing his soul than the great family of Truewatch.
