The Guild Timeline gives a brief overview of the joint history of Truewatch and its mother guild Everwatch.

Introduction

In Norrathian terms, Everwatch exists in the Age of Turmoil from the year 2974 onwards and Truewatch in the Age of Destiny from the year 3720 onwards. In Dreamworld terms, Everwatch was founded in December 2001 on the Antonius Bayle server in Everquest 1 and Truewatch in January 2005 on the Splitpaw server in Everquest 2. Both guilds today prosper in their respective games, although mostly independent of one another. Nonetheless, the guilds have one joint history, with one important caveat: Everything that happened in Everwatch after November 2004 did not happen in Truewatch.

The reason for this is that in Norrathian terms, Druzzil Ro, the goddess of magic, set back time when the first mortals invaded the Plane of Time (launch of Planes of Power, October 2002), causing the creation of a parallel universe (plot hook of Everquest 2, see the History of the Age of Destiny). Travel to this other universe became possible with the discovery of tears in the fabric of time (launch of Everquest 2, November 2004). In Dreamworld terms, this is a way of keeping the two games and the two guilds separate in order to avoid storyline continuity problems.
