Meeting Biet

One day, when Brethil was already a young lady, a group of Dwarf warriors set up camp near her families home. Her father of course invited them over for some roast pork and Dwarven Ale to share stories by the fire. Brethil fancied this one strong Warrior called Biet right away. He kept to himself, mostly listening to the stories the others told, drinking his Ale. Then Brethil's father Barunn told the story of Belya's encounter with the Great Bear and the Wood Elves. A lot of the guests looked very strange... many Dwarves are not that fond of Elves... but Biet's eyes seemed to shimmer and he asked Barunn many questions. When Barunn told his guests that they gave their youngest daughter an Elvish name in honour of the Wood Elves, he noticed Brethil, who was sitting next to her father, for the first time. Somehow this story loosened up Biet a lot and he decided to stay with Barunn a bit longer to help him out. Barunn who was happy to meet a Dwarf who was not shamed about their friendly connections to the Wood Elves, accepted his help without any problems. He secretly hoped Biet would like his daughter Brethil enough to marry her. Biet was an ordinary Dwarf on the outside, he liked his ale, he liked fighting... but there was more than that to him. Biet and Brethil went on hunting trips together, Brethil caring for Biet's wounds when he got a bit too overbearing when confronted with strong game. Biet grew very fond of Brethil, although he was too much of a man to admit to it. After a couple of weeks Biet said goodbye to Barunn's family to join up with his fellow Warrior Dwarves. He promised he would return.
