Pillars of the Watch
From WikiWatch
Familia, Persona et Valituris!
Central to the ethos of Truewatch are the three Pillars that represent The Way. These three pillars are symbolically represented on the Guild Cloak.

The Pillar of Family
"Family is happy accident. They don't mean to get on your nerves. They don't even mean to be your family, they just are." ~Marsha Norman
Chief Guardian: Lady Briarthorn Paidonomous
Assistants: Lady Seya San'jula and Lady Delta San'jula
What is Family within the Watch? Our Leader, Lady Briarthorn, spells it out:
"We are a guild who strives every day to be a family. And yes, families have their internal squabbles, no disagreement. But Truewatch is also about Honor. For the longest time we ran around Norrath shouting to all who would listen.. 'For the Honor of Norrath' in our battles against the chaos the gods and people created. I still do from time to time and earn a few ignore lists likely. *chuckles*
Honor, within the guild, is an unwritten commandment. Honor, to me at least, means giving each other the respect we each deserve and earn with our working to be a unified guild. It means always supporting the need before greed way of fighting, for any items in a battle. And it means treating each other as friends. It means to support them with the same regard you would a best friend or a family member... or for those who have a harder time with our Roles, think of a long ago story of Camelot and Knights and the codes of Chivalry. Chivalry is a good thing no matter what city you call home. Honest."
Grand Moots
These take place on major occasions within the guild. The last historic Grand Moot was in the Dreamworld year 2006, when Lord Gunnyret handed over leadership of the guild to Lady Briarthorn. Previously, Grand Moots have been held on January 26th, the 'birthday' of Truewatch, and when many promotions are due at once.
Dreamworld Moots
In 2007 the Dreamworld Moot was held in Belgium and hosted by Lady Vazquez. In 2008, the Dreamworld Moot was held in the UK and was hosted by Miss T and Lord Uxian. In 2009, the Dreamworld Moot will be held in the USA and hosted by Lady Briarthorn. We hope to see you there!
The Pillar of Role
"All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players." ~ William Shakespeare
Chief Guardian: Lady Narzoo Tyraith
Assistants: Miss Taraiha Kitty'Gnome and Lady Olonia Tyraith
Truewatch is a roleplay guild. Our members are expected to engage in roleplay in Guild Say and are encouraged to develop the story of their family through their interaction with others on the Guild Forums. Any Truewatcher may run or attend any event. In the past we have had Tavern nights, Frostfell plays, talent contests, fashion shows, competitions and even taken down the Pumpkin King at McQuibbles Farm!
The Hall of Role
In the Hall of Role we welcome everything from poetry and stories to biographies and lore. Whether you browse the shelves for a good read or fancy yourself the next 'Willybob Shakinspear', we want to hear from you!
The Truewatch Spotlight
Our reporters love to hear about your exploits in Norrath so why not volunteer to be interviewed for the Spotlight? An in-depth interview can really help us get to know you and we're always looking for new material. To request a Spotlight, please contact Miss T in a private message via the Guild Forums or by Norrathian Express.
The Truewatch Tavern
Run by Lady Olonia, the Tavern proved popular from the very first day. Tavern Nights bring Watchers together on a regular basic to swap stories and make merry and are always promoted in the Guild Calendar.
Truewatch Players
Truewatch Players is a merry band of minstrels led by Miss T! Every Frostfell they put on a new play in the guild hall. In 2009 there will be two plays for the first year ever, in June and December. To join Truewatch Players please contact Miss T on the Guild Forums or by Norrathian Express.
The Pillar of Power
"Semper Fidelis. (Always Faithful)" ~ United States Marine Corps
Chief Guardian: Lord Lord Uxian Shaali'Nes
Assistants: Lord Hazey Vahkitty'Knight and Lord Thanriyon "The Stabbity Frog" Arkhelt
Although Family and Role are important in Truewatch, members are encouraged to advance their skills and seek to better themselves in the adventuring and crafting arenas as well.
The Hall of Adventurers
All members are encouraged to increase their adventuring circles in an enjoyable way. Whilst we do not encourage power levelling or farming, we do encourage younger members to band together, older members to mentor those of lower circles and skilled adventurers to assist others in the pursuit of coveted items and quest completions. Truewatch operates a non-negotiable Need before Greed system of looting and questing.
The Hall of Raiders
Whilst we are not a hardcore raiding guild, Truewatch does raid up to T8 as part of an alliance called Sneaky Hamsters.
The Hall of Artisans
Some seek power through their adventuring circles and quests, others seek it through their ability to battle great foes as part of the raid force. Others prefer to quietly stoke up the forge. Artisans of the guild are those who's crafting level allows them to fulfill orders on the Artisans Noticeboard and can even gain promotion to Elder by becoming a Grand Master Artisan. Lord Hagan and Lord Zortrium currently look after the Hall of Artisans where crafters can exchange expertise, materials and recipes.
The Customs & Tomes
"History is who we are and why we are the way we are." ~David McCullogh
Chief Guardian: Lord Zortrium Odustear
Assistant: Miss Taraiha Kitty'Gnome
The Truewatch Library
The Truewatch Library stands in the most ancient part of the Guild House. On most days, if you were to wander inside the dimly lit interior, you would hear the 'almost quiet' sounds of a Truewatcher or three perusing the newly gathered books and reading a story here and there. On either side, seated at the well-worn, ratonga-crafted tables, you might come across the occassional Iksar scribbling down a treasured part of their family life, or a high elf chewing his quill and trying to find a rhyme for 'Luclin'.
Once in a while there might be the swish of a skirt as an officer walks the aisles seeking guidance, or the gentle clinking of armour as a raid leader researches a new target. You would certainly hear the crunching of an Ogre trying to pretend he isn't eating cookies in the Library, should he be in residence! And on any Sunday afternoon you would be aware of the sounds of a scuffling halfling as she went about her officer duties, giggling to herself as she rediscovers lost treasures amongst the stacks.
If you walked to the very back, behind the new volumes of poetry and storytelling, beyond the racks of scrolls and medals and carefully past the teetering piles of dusty parchment, you would discover a small office-like area, with dust dancing in a shaft of light from a tiny window. Wedged between the stone wall and a small table, you would find an inconspicuous writing desk.
Armed only with a pen and quill, the desk stands guardian over a shelf of weighty tomes, each one bound in the finest green leather and wrought with intricate gold inlays. Once might expect there to be inches of dust in such a small and seemingly forgotten place, yet it is immaculately clean. Along one wall there are enormous scrolls, recently scribed and well thumbed. If you were to take a peek you would discover the names of those who have signed their family up to 'Follow the Way' and wear the green and gold cloak of a Watcher.
For these tomes hold within them the customs and law of the Watch from the past Age of Turmoil to the present Age of Destiny. Each and every Watcher has read these tomes and agreed to follow them for these are the heart of the Family, the seat of our Power and the inspiration for our Role. Beside them you would find stories of valour, honour, tradition and ancestry.
And on rare occasions, if one were to rise early enough, one might find an ancient Erudite, following in the ways of his forefathers, scribing new stories of valour and the current traditions of the Watch within those tomes.
