The Morning (by Uxian)
From WikiWatch
For those who have walked in the darkness and forget that the light of hope is not far behind
The Morning
I walked the night's long, lonely roads,
Haunted by the ghosts of past,
Where eyes and thoughts deceive our souls,
And deep-held pains in huddles massed,
Taunt us with our old mistakes,
Berate us for the fools we've been,
And the lies like predatory snakes,
From dark shadows strike unseen.
I walk in dawn's emerging glow,
As sunlight melts away the fear,
The shadows run from new-found hope,
And pain has no more power here.
The light burns away the lies,
And truth comes shining through,
Against this morn there's no disguise,
Just heart and hope renewed.
