Biography

One of the ten founders of the guild Everwatch, rumoured to be the creator of the name “Everwatch” and first Head of the Branch of Patchers (guild priest branch) (2001). Acting Keeper of the Mantle (guild leader), creator of the Tome of Laws (guild codex), creator of the Fono (guild parliament) and first Chairman of the Fono (chairman of guild parliament) (2002). Regular Keeper of the Mantle and again Chairman of the Fono (2003).

Z. grew up in the city Erudin on the continent Odus, where he was instructed in the worship of the god Quellious the Tranquil as a Cleric. On his first journey to the continent Antonica, he made the acquaintance of a group of travellers, among them Agracain Windrider, the Druid, Gragar Spiritwalker, the Shaman, and Semperfi Paidonomos (see also Gunyret Faithholder), the Mage, who invited him to form a guild that would later become known as the Everwatch. After the guild’s founding near the city Freeport, he became the Head of the Branch of Patchers, the guild’s priest branch.

In the next year, following an insurrection by a number of the guild’s officers against despotic tendencies on behalf of the Everwatch’s regular leader while the second in line for leadership, Semperfi, was absent, all powers were handed over to Z. as Acting Keeper of the Mantle. He sought to stabilize the guild by adopting means of democratic decision making. The Fono, a parliament elected by all members of the guild, and the Tome of Laws, the EverWatch’s first codex defining member’s rights and duties, were created back then and are still in place today. Z. was allowed to remain as the guild’s Regular Keeper of the Mantle upon the return of Semperfi, who then became the guild’s ideological and spiritual leader as the Keeper of the Heart. In this year, Z. also organized a number of events, among them the monumental quest known as Xariak’s Legacy, in which the renegade Dark Elf Xariak Nachtwind travelled the lands of Norrath in search of his origin.

In the next year, Z. retired from most of his positions to in order to teach the history of the Everwatch to recruits and to preach the word of Quellious to unbelievers. Following Quellious’ expulsion from the Plain of Tranquillity by mortals after the discovery of the Planes of Power, Z. left the Everwatch to live as a hermit on Odus, waiting for the god’s return.

Appearance

You see an Erudite of middle age. Uncharacteristic for a High Men he seems quite muscular and sturdy, wears armor and has two rapiers and a lute hanging from his belt. Upon closer inspection you could notice the words 'Zortrium, Apprentice of Redfist' engraved in his rapiers in Dwarven and the label 'Patent of Ak'Anon' on parts of his gear. More obvious though are the icons of Brell, Quellious and a Unicorn on his cloak. Below them you can read 'Familia, Persona et Valituris - In Perpetuum.'

Biography

Head of the House of Artisans of the Truewatch (guild crafter branch), one of the creators of the Artisan’s Exchange (guild-wide system for the distribution of harvesting and crafting items, see also Hagan and Kazumi) and the Artisan’s Noticeboard (guild-wide system for the distribution of crafted goods, see also Hagan and Kazumi) (2005). Holder of the Faith (guild co-leader), Head of the House of Artisans and Co-leader of the Chronicles and Lore Department (2006). Holder of the Faith and Co-leader of the House of Artisans (2007).

Z. is determined to follow the example of his ancestors in walking all paths of life that may lead to enlightenment, as taught by the followers of the god Quellious. Standing in the tradition of his ancestors, he has joined the guild Truewatch, a spin-off of the legendary guild Everwatch.

Role

Zortrium's role within the family of Truewatch is that of the Scriber of the Tomes, a task which has been handed down through the generations from the times of Zortrium I during The First Age of Everwatch. As Scriber of the Tomes it is his duty to keep and update the Tome of Customs and Tome of Laws of Truewatch and to scribe the historical events of the guild and it's Leaders. In doing so he brings the three Pillars represented by the other Leaders together.
